Q From where comes the site's name?
A = "The Silence Is Broken" is a phrase around Silent Hill 2. The site was created when Silent Hill 3 not yet appears. In a SH2 promo poster, it was possible read "The Silence Is Broken". Nice phrase.

Q What is the real history of this site?
A = It was in 2002 when "evil" creates the site, based in another site abour Resident Evil, called "Total Fear X". Evil worked in both projects, in 2003 leaves TFX. Then she puts all her dedication in TSIB until year 2004, when she can't work anymore in the page due highschool. Then James takes the control of TSIB. At this time, James is the present admin.

Q Evil still be a part of TSIB?
A = In theory, yes, due she was the creator. Nevertheless, she don't make anything for the site.

Q Why TSIB takes a lot to be updated?
A = Isn't easy homework do all those things, think in fact i'm the only one who does the site contents, image editing, and much more. In addition, this is only a hobby for me, i have my other businesses.

Q Can i use the material of this site in my personal web?
A = You can use freely all the set images in galleries. If you use a text from this site, you must attach the source (of course, TSIB). You cannot make an exactly copy from the site nor use the layout images. Be original.

Q And what about download? ¿Can i use it in my site?
A = You can take all downloads and upload them in YOUR OWN server. I dont have any copyrigth in those material, is KONAMI property. What you do with them is under your risk. What strictly its prohibited is HOTLINKING. Anyway... i have the hotlinking protection activated.

Q what is hotlinking?
A = "Hotlinking" is direct linking to a website's files (images, video, etc.). An example would be using an <IMG> tag to display a JPEG image you found on someone else's web page so it will appear on your own site, journal, weblog, forum posting, etc. This is considered theft.

Q In what affects hotlinking in the site?
A = Something very important in one site is the month transfer. Some sites have limited MB transfer, this means users only can download a certain ammount of files, until month transfer comes to the limit. If the downloads outs this limit, the site automatically closes or negates downloads, until the other month, when transfer is restored. In addition, i think is really bad when someone takes all the work from some sites and put them in their own, without make any real job than "copy and paste".

Q Can i be a part of TSIB ?
A = Actually we don't need or asking about help. But you can be a collaborator, sending images, fan arts, translation corrections... I'll give you credit by your contributes.

Q Can i affiliate my site with TSIB?
A = Of course, but keep in mind your site must have some requirements:
-your site is about Silent Hill...
-... or videogames and/or anime
-your site is not a forum or a blog (some exceptions)
your site has a good layout (optional)
-your site has good contents (necessary)

Q What programs you use to create TSIB?
A = I use all these programs: Adobe Photoshop CS2 for edit images, Macromedia DreamWeaver 8 and NotePad for HTML and PHP edition, Macromedia Flash 8 for make animations and background sounds, VirtualDub for video edition, winZIP and winRAR for compress files, Click for create favicons, WSFTP 2006 Pro for upload the site, and various explorers for testing. I have FireFox, Opera, Netscape and Internet Explorer. In the past i used Swish Max but actually i don't use it anymore and either i recommend it because it haven't the potential of Flash. Is better learn to use Flash.

Q Why TSIB looks so bad in my PC?
A = Older versions of the site was made wrong. This new version was created under the W3C standars. More info.

Q I don't see anymore the colored scroll bars... why??
A = The "css code" used for that effect is a Microsoft creation, and is visible only in Internet Explorer. That isn't ccs code, much less css valid code.

Q Why all those disguting ad - banners?
A = Actually TSIB runs on a free-ad server thanks to SHFever Network.

Q Where can i obtain original Silent Hill stuff?
A = Is a little difficult try to get for example Silent Hill 1 and 2 material, due this games are old. Games are out of stock and, to find them you need lucky and money. Try in ebay.com or outlet shops, garage sales...

Q TSIB is related with KONAMI?
A = No way. TSIB is a FANSITE. But we are really glad with SH creators for this fantastic game.

Q Is legal put all those mp3 to download?
A = In theory, is not legal, but is not ilegal either. I upload music because not everyone can buy the CD. I don't receive money for that, i'm treating the files as "back up" from your original material.
